What does Jay z, Warren buffet, and Steve Jobs have in common?
Whether it’s Warren Buffets fanatical love for numbers which led to his phenomenal success with Berkshire Hathaway, Jay Z’s unquestionable passion and unique ability to compose lyrics that compel us emotionally on a deep level with beats that have become classics, or Steve Jobs acclaimed success with apple in terms of innovation, inspiration, and phenomenal marketing campaigns, these remarkable individuals all have several things in common.
They all have specific goals that relate to their passions
They have defined what is most important to them and have eliminated the distractions that keep them from achieving their goals.
If you were to ask them what is most important to them, or what they want to achieve, they will be able to answer you with a clear vision.
It’s not just a job for them, it’s a lifestyle.
They are driven to the few things that matter, and not by all the possible distractions in their everyday lives.
Successful people manage distractions and don’t become absorbed by them.
They are consistent and progressive
They do what they love and what’s important on a regular basis. It’s a lifestyle, not something they decide to do one day and abandon the next.
The focus on whats works and repeat the process until they reach the level of success they are satisfied.
And because they focus on their passion they are able to do what they love on a regular basis.
They strive to be better because it brings them happiness and success, and are always trying to move forward, evolve, learn more, and achieve more, because it brings them closer to the lifestyle they love.
They have developed relationships with people who have the same goals, beliefs, and mindsets as them
They spend their time with people who feel the same way they do.
People who help them grow and fulfill their desires.
Those that motivate them in the direction of their goals and are able to help them achieve what they truly want.
They also understand that they need to stay away form people that waste their time and energy on the things that are not bringing them fulfillment and those take but never give in return.
They have created lifestyles that are in alignment with their passions, beliefs and sense of fulfillment
They have chosen careers/opportunities that work with their strengths and passions.
They know that their biggest investment of time should be invested in doing the very things they live for and love.
Before they were able to do what they now enjoy and make a living doing it, they spent much of their free time doing the very same things, only without the success, fame or money (now that’s passion)
They never lost focus, even before it was a career/lifestyle it was a passion they woke up with and went to sleep with every night and day.
They enjoy the journey
They don’t live life doing what they hate for a trophy, toy, or knick-knack at the end of the day or to put a little money in the bank. They enjoy the whole process.
From the moment they wake up in the morning they find fulfillment in the majority of activities they do.
They can’t wait to get started creating, crafting, or simply doing what they enjoy.
Sure they may have times when they wish they were home instead, or on a distant island, but most of the time they feel very happy and fortunate to be able to live doing what they love.
At the end of the day their trophy, toy, or knick-knack only adds to the enjoyment they already attained by doing what they love.
It isn’t a reward for putting up with what they hate, and that’s why it’s so important for them to enjoy the process.
Without it your living a un-fulfilling and unpleasant life for a few consolation prizes which will never make you happy.
Why can’t we help but admire them?
We all admire those with great passion. Those who live a lifestyles that we dream of and go on to accomplish amazing things.
Those who persevere through adversity destined to achieve their purpose. How can we not? After all, we all want the same for ourselves.
For some of us it gives us a sense of hope. For others a person we can relate to.
A person who stands up for what they believe in.
Some of these people become our hero’s or role models. People we look to for inspiration when we need that extra push.
